NOLA Spaces Fundraiser

All profits from Dance Renaissance will benefit the renovation of the Firehouse in New Orleans where NOLA spaces will open its doors (scheduled for fall 2011). This project is at the initiative of Dance Quarter LLC.

WHAT IS THE FIREHOUSE AND NOLA SPACES?
New Orleans is home to many dance communities as well as talented art, health and fitness professionals. However, there are no rental spaces in the city that can offer these independent groups a home where to rehearse, run classes and workshops. Also, there is no social dance studio in New Orleans. With all the music available in the city, can you believe it? Among others, Dance Quarter will make NOLA Spaces its home.

With all this talent and nowhere to go, we have decided to open NOLA spaces in what we call “the Firehouse”. The firehouse is a 6000 Sq Ft building located on Toledano, just off St Charles Avenue that we are in the process of renovating. Floor plans and business plan have been presented to various banks and we are waiting to get funding.

Nola Spaces will be serving the entertainment community, teaching professionals, and individual artists by providing an environment of creativity, comfort and professionalism. The goal of this facility will be to support and encourage New Orleans professional artists’ success in all their endeavors by providing a cool space and the highest quality service for their classes, workshops, rehearsals, etc.

Nola Spaces is being designed to provide the perfect venue for:
- ongoing classes in dance, yoga, martial arts, etc
- workshops and rehearsals
- social events and concerts
- meetings
- recitals
- movie screenings and photo shoots

In the meantime, several people have already offered some help under the form of free labor, discounted labor, bartering and donations. Despite the fact that we are not a non-for-profit, we can still take donations. Note that as a result, those donations will not be tax deductible for you.

So we have decided to turn our annual music and dance festival, Dance Renaissance, into a fundraiser. All profits of this year’s festival will benefit the renovation of the Firehouse.

RAFFLE:

- Each ticket is $10, if you purchase your tickets online, you will receive a ticket number via email for each $10 you spend.
- Each ticket will be included in a raffle to be drawn on Saturday, December 10, 2011.
- You don’t have to be present to win. If you win, you will be contacted Monday, December 12, 2011 and the winners will be listed here and on www.nolaspaces.com

There will be SEVERAL prizes INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

1. The winning ticket will get a 6-month pass for the person of your choice for unlimited dance classes with Dance Quarter LLC. Once assigned this pass in non-transferable. The first use of this pass will need to start within 1 year following the opening of NOLA Spaces. Classes will be offered in Blues, Swing, Salsa and Argentine Tango.

2. The person who will have PURCHASED the most tickets, and the person who will have SOLD the most tickets will get a VIP pass for unlimited classes, workshops and parties for 6 months for 2 people of his/her choice. Once assigned, the VIP pass is non-transferable. The first use of the VIP pass is to be applied within the first year of NOLA Spaces opening.

3. GROUPS/COMPANIES WHO WISH TO SELL TICKETS GET:
50% of the value of the sales in rehearsal time once we open doors. For example, if “Spirit Yoga” (fictitious name) sells $500 worth of tickets, “Spirit Yoga” gets $250 worth of rentals.

4. Instructional 4-DVD Set. Basic Swing Series by Nathalie Gomes and Yuval Hod, World Champions. $100 value

5. TWO free tickets to next New Year’s Masquerade Ball
